About Dalesmade Kitchens
Established in 1996 Dalesmade Limited has produced the finest kitchen cabinetry and furniture for nearly 20 years. Starting with one member of staff in shared workshop space, they had humble beginnings however they now enjoy manufacturing within their 6500 square feet workshop and employ eight highly skilled cabinet makers in the beautiful North Yorkshire town of Settle.
Dalesmade pride themselves on attention to detail with every process from initial unloading of raw materials, to packing of finished cabinets closely monitored to ensure they provide clients with the highest quality furniture they can.
Every component they manufacture in their workshop is hand crafted. Whether it be turned entirely by hand on a woodworking lathe, or shaped by computer controlled machinery before being finished by hand, each item is treated with the greatest love, care and attention at every stage.
Through an external referral, Centurius were contacted by Dalesmade for an initial chat about the development of a completely new web site. From this Centurius were commissioned to design and develop a new consumer facing website. After an initial meeting with the client, we recognised that the client needed the ability to update their own site. Because of this, Centurius proposed WordPress as the ideal platform for their site, where the user friendly nature of the admin system would suit Dalesmade.
From this Centurius then carried out a design exercise creating four flat visuals to illustrate the final solution to the client. These were presented online and through telephone conference, with the client the designs were tweaked and adapted to a point where design sign-off was approved.
Once sign-off was obtained from the client Centurius went to work on installing, configuring and implemented the new site on the client’s server.
Immediately our goal here was to produce a responsive framework for the client allowing the site to adapt its layout depending on the users chosen viewing device, whether laptop, tablet or mobile.
The brief for the look and feel of the site was simple. Clean yet effective, with large imagery showcasing the quality craftsmanship that Dalesmade’s ethos is built upon. The background to the side again would run throughout the site and subtly reinforce the quality of a Dalesmade kitchen. Additional plugins were implemented to allow the client to change the backgrounds to different pages, if desired.
Simple multi-layered navigation was essential to allow viewers to reach the desired pages quickly, all of which can be altered by the client within their admin control panel.
Throughout the site we implemented call-to-action areas allowing viewers to get in touch immediately in order to submit an enquiry.
An important are within the site was the Ranges area which showcase all the current kitchen types that Dalesmade offer. To support this area a gallery lightbox function was implemented allowing the viewer to scroll back and forth through the ranges.
From an organic SEO perspective a new blog area was also created allowing the client to write helpful, informative articles relating to Dalesmade. Having this blog is good practice and a great asset towards helping this site’s exposure increase on the web.
To summarise the project, Centurius were able to create a new impactful, responsive, front-of-house brochure web site for their client, allowing them to showcase their ranges quickly yet efficiently via a very user friendly administration panel.
As Centurius prides itself on building long term partnerships with its clients, Dalesmade and Centurius will be working together on future projects to enhance the site further.
“Centurius are one of the best recommendations that we have received during our 19 years in business.
They quickly demonstrated that they had understood our requirements and delivered both on time and on budget. They developed our ideas and blended them professionally with their own to produce a website which we are proud of.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them to any company looking for first class service (and let’s face it, that’s all of us!).”
